I use it to update y’all with pictures of progress I make on specific projects and some other pictures of my day! Mainly I use it to celebrate progress on projects (no matter how small the progress or the project!)

I’ve made huge progress on the MWS. I finished February, the raccoon is done! The mushrooms are done! Now to finish May and April. I am debating about adding a little weed in the mushrooms grass

This is a little sneak peek that I posted for a certain design I made for a certain website!

This last picture was just a nice lazy Sunday at my friend’s house. We planted flowers earlier in April and now we get to see the pretty results!

That’s what I’ve been up to! I’ve also been working my boo-tay off at the hospital!

I have been so busy. I had finals, moved into my summer apartment and went back to work (I’ve done 32 hours in the last 4 days)!!!

I picked up my MWS and started stitching again! I put it down in the beginning of March due to torn floss and a lack of wanting to fix it. Now I am getting caught up with everyone else!

I’m also working on an embroidery for Fandom in Stitches that may or may not strongly relate to the Doctor Who Stitch Along being hosted from May 15th to July 31st… Any guesses on which Doctor I designed?

So what have I been doing between stitching like a mad woman and working like a mad woman?

I’ve been hanging out with family and friends. I’ve also been contemplating some samplers and other cross stitches I may or may not want to make using my cross stitching program!

How do I stay sane while managing the storm that is finals and the jungle that is the library?

Writing.

I’ve been working on a piece of nonfiction about my dating experiences. It probably isn’t the most exciting story or tragic story in the world but it is certainly awkward and I enjoy writing it. I am utilizing my study breaks productively by writing!

In recent weeks I’ve had a whole bunch of things hit the fan, none of them pleasant smelling. I’ve been struggling to keep my head above water and keep my sanity close by.

In other words, I have not made progress on the Woodland Sampler and I probably won’t pick it up again until sometime in mid-May.

As I venture into finals wish me luck and send up a little prayer for me if you can!

Have you noticed I’ve been MIA?

It’s okay if you haven’t! I’ve been so busy with school this semester! I’ve barely been crafting! It’s a bit painful to be honest. All I do is eat, sleep, nurse (the job, not breastfeeding!)

I have been working on the Woodland Sampler by the Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery! I’m currently working on the border of March. In another post I’ll take some good pictures of my progress to show off to you guys!

So if I haven’t been crafting all of these weeks, what have I been doing!?

Well, nursing school has kept me sufficiently detained. It’s almost as if they put a big old ball and chain on my ankle this semester. Oh no! It’s not been that bad! At least there isn’t an actual ball and chain involved!

I also recently had a spring break. Two of the most glorious and glorified words in the college undergraduate language. So what did I do for a whole week of no class?

Well, I went up to Chicago, IL for a couple of days. I visited the International Museum of Surgical Science which had a small, interesting exhibit on nursing history. The museum itself mainly focused on the recent development (around the 1840s!) on anesthesia usage during surgical procedures i.e. amputations. Interestingly enough, anesthesia usage is a fairly recent development in medical history although surgical procedures were performed in ancient Mesopotamia culture.

I’m standing next to a bust of Florence Nightingale, one of the most widely known visages of nursing.Interestingly enough, the museum itself was once a house for a well-endowed family!

Next on the Chicago trip was for Chelsea and I to hit up the UP Comedy club and see Airport for Birds. A comedy sketch by a group of rather funny comedians!

The picture below is of our spot in relation to the stage. I hadn’t realized I had bought VIP tickets, but I’m glad I did!

The next day we went to the Schedd Aquarium. I LOVE aquariums. The Schedd Aquarium was a very interesting establishment. It’s on my top 5 aquariums list however it is not number 1. Maybe some day I will do a list of aquariums for y’all. I’m not just a geek about tv shows and books it seems!

Spring break was a week or two ago now. I spent a couple of days in Chicago and then I was back to work and then back to school and work!

For now, expect to hear from me sometime after the start of May! I’ll be doing a few fun things this summer with family and friends and I plan to really get my craft on. I’ve been working on a couple of literary approaches as well. Stay tuned to hear the adventures of an overworked, brain fried undergraduate nursing student!
