Cousin Dates

Cousin dates are a clever little birthday gift I came up with. I would treat my cousins each to a separate dinner and movie date.

For my first cousin date, I went with my cousin Walker (age 9) to Red Robin and shortly after we caught a showing of Spy Kids:All the Time in the World in 4D.

It was an interesting movie due to the fact that I saw the original Spy Kids in theaters… about 10 years ago, when I was 9!

It was as funny as a sequel could be, but the most important part was that I think Walker enjoyed spending an evening with me and showing me a movie that he really liked!

For my second cousin date, I took my cousin Mason to see The Lion King 3D as a (very!) belated birthday gift.

I was very excited to take him since a little birdie told me that Mason had never, and I mean EVER, seen The Lion King before!

It was super awesome to see the movie with him :) His favorite part was when Simba threw Scar over the ledge. Typical boy. He also declared several times throughout the movie that Hakuna Matata means no worries!

Do I think that The Lion King was a success? Yes, I think it was quite the hit with Mason!

So that’s all I’ve got for you all tonight! I’ve got a post ready to go for Oct. 1 detailing a certain something my mom sent me last week!

Chelsea’s Quilt

First off, I’m very late in giving Chelsea her birthday gift! She’s turned 20 years old on the 8th of this month and I just got this quilt to her yesterday! I had not even finished binding it when I returned to Evansville (for shame!) So I had my mom finish the binding for me and send it here!

I’ve been so blessed as to have known her for almost 10 percent of her life! (About a year and a half!)

I decided long before the end of my freshman year of college that I was going to make a quilt for her! I only wish that we were sharing the same room! You see, Chelsea was my roommate for my spring semester last year and she’s the best roommate I’ve ever had! (I can DEFINITELY say that given my first roommate!)

So I set off on my task and employed my Super Chelsea Powers! I was able to find fabrics that I was sure she would love using said powers!

As you can tell in the pictures below, Chelsea adores Hello Kitty and the Beatles. I was lucky enough to find all of these fabrics at M&L although I did not post pictures of them at the time.

This is the quilt all wrapped up with a Beatles mug and ready to go in a Tangled gift bag! :)

I think she rather likes it!

Toy Story 3

I’ve done it! I’ve officially finished all of my Pixar stitches with this Toy Story 3 stitch! (At least all of the movies that are already out! I’ll stitch Brave and Monsters University around their release dates!)

I’m so excited to have this finished!

When she sends you a huge bottle of Vitamin C and a cup with the first letter of your name Monogrammed on it :)

Yes, that’s me! I’m a bit shiny from the slight sheen of sweat I acquired from my walk to get my package!

Soooo thank you Grandma!

For all of my readers who read for my crafts…. I’m sorry, I’m so busy with nursing school. Soon I might finish my last Pixar cross stitch though and as soon as I finish a product to be sold, I will post that as well… There is also something coming for me in the mail I have to share with y’all!
